The State Armed Police Battalion was protecting the borders by 1965. The state armed police were unable to respond to Pakistan’s attacks on Sardar Post, Chhar Bet, and Beria Bet in 1965. As a result, the Indian government intended to establish a Border Security Force that was both equipped and qualified.
